Gallimard is a major independent French publishing house, founded by Gaston Gallimard in 1911 and managed by Antoine Gallimard, which publishes high quality literature and non-fiction as well as quality art and photography books. The subsidiary Gallimard Loisirs publishes richly researched travel guides as well as illustrated non-fiction in the fields of travel and leisure. Gallimard’s Illustrated foreign rights department looks after all illustrated titles by Gallimard, Gallimard Loisirs and the publishing houses Hoëbeke and Alternatives which are part of the group.
